Image: The Stamp Cardigan is hand crocheted from NY heritage breed yarns and naturally dyed with Snowy Goldenrod foraged from Ohio and Carrot tops from Mama Farm. The patches on the arms are hand-painted with homemade natural paints and needlepoint to depict stamps from my grandfather's stamp collection.
Image: The Katie Overalls are dyed with black walnut and their straps are hand-painted with natural paints made from Snowy Goldenrod and Black Walnut and needlepoint on top. I have paired the overalls with the stamp cardigan.
Image: The argyle vest is hand crocheted with local NY heritage breed yarn and dyed with Snowy Goldenrod foraged in Ohio and Buckthorn berries foraged from Mama Farm. The buttons are seeds from the Love and a Puff vine. The argyle vest is paired with the Wader Pants. These pants have removable legs to reveal shorts. The legs are held on by the same a Love and a Puff vine seeds and have waxed legs and are dyed with black beans.
Image: The Papa Jacket is made from an organic cotton canvas fabric and is naturally dyed with Chlorophyllin, black beans, and the patches on the forearms and back panel are hand-painted with homemade natural paints and are based on stamps from my grandfather's stamp collection. The panel on the breast is needlepointed with naturally dyed yarns. The Stamp Jacket is paired with the Patty Pant which is dyed with black beans and has a buttoned slit on the leg panel, as well as a felted wool pocked on the leg. The felted wool panel has handmade fly fishing flies attached into the wool.
Image: The Sprig Sweater is a hand-crocheted sweater made from Shetland yarn sourced and spun in Ohio. The body is the natural color of the wool and the sprigs are dyed with carrot tops from Mama Farm. The sweater is paired with the Diamond Pant which is dyed with Black Walnut and painted with homemade Black Walnut paints to create diamonds on the legs, the diamonds are then outlined with hand stitching.
Image: The Hank Work Jacket is made from organic cotton twill and spot dyed with black walnut. The jacket has an embroidered name tag on its front to replicate the nametags from auto shop uniforms. The Hank Work Jacket is paired with the reinforced leg Quilt Pant. The Quilt Pant is made from USA-grown hemp canvas and dyed with Black-Eyed Susans. The reinforced leg panel is painted with homemade Snowy Goldenrod and Black Walnut Paints. The panel is waxed and hand-stitched on top.

Bio

Ellie Auch is a recent graduate from Parsons School of Design and the designer behind the label, Son of Auch. Ellie creates her garments through collaborating with small local farms, where she sources her wool and natural dyes. The garments and accessories she makes invoke a sense of classic woodsy exploration while maintaining nostalgic feminine touches. Many of the little details are nods to the crafts and hobbies her grandparents cherished.
