LD13

At my new born atelier/brand/company LD13 we envision a world where fashion doesn’t express exuberance, but arts, craftsmanship and individualism.
In between Augsburg and New York, LD13 embodies the Generation Global in its interconnected thinking and working, its responsibility in sourcing and manufacturing and its belief in the power of arts.

FARM TO WARDROBE

Atelier LD13 supports a slower-paced system where we celebrate local knowledge, sustain biodiversity, and build on techniques learned in the crafts to create less but better emotionally/significant designs.
Likewise, we work together directly with our Farmers and mills, manufacturing locally & globally in places; we have a close relationship with our community supporting each other.

RED LAB

I see nature’s waste, surplus, treasures as a chance to fuse the Heritage Farms, with the craft and the high-end materials of the Ateliers/studios of tomorrow.
It’s the story of my friend & mentor María Elena Pombo introducing me to this world & passing on knowledge. It’s the story of Farmer, Lorenzo & his cochineal.
I source the cochineal elixir from local Farmer Lorenzo Perez, on the Canary Islands, Spain, where she supports a family-owned business working under the agricultural GMO’s, put to law by the European Union, sustaining and supporting a healthy cochineal farming business for future generations.

HERITAGE BREED ROMELDALE

For now & in the future, we are redefining what luxury means for the LD13 community & future generations. It's essential to know where materials come from to sustain the heritage, culture, and communities that stand behind it to create less but more impactful Wardrobes that speak for the communities we support, the creativity we keep alive, and the diversity we want to sustain.

CACTUS LEATHER

Working together with Desserto, found by Adrián López Velarde and Marte Cázarezwho use the prickly pear Cactus in the state of Zacatecas in Mexico to grow their vegan cactus leather since 2019. The prickly pear cactus where the female cochineal insects feed on, drinks its juice, become strong, and gives birth to the next generation.
Desserto’s Mission: “Desserto® is a plant-based leather made from cactus, often distinguished by its incredible softness at touch while offering excellent performance for a wide variety of applications and complying with the most rigorous quality and environmental standards. The aim is to provide cruelty-free alternatives without phthalates and PVC.

SILK FARM

Having had a small-scale silkworm farm myself, I have seen the entire lifecycle and its potential to 3D print and create natural solid materials based on a living system.
Today, and in decades past, silk is seen as a valuable material because it takes around 3000 silkworm cocoons to produce 1 yard of fabric, a craft done by silkworms themselves without any human hands involved.
